I saw my dermatologist yesterday and he suggested I try phototherapy. I've tried topical steroids and squaric acid and there has been some growth which the doctor was happy with, but he said he expected there to be a lot more growth by now. He said the hair coming in is real hair and thick, so I have the capacity for the hair to return, but the immune system is still not shut off. Due to my other autoimmune issue (Crohn's) and taking Remicade, the dermatologist doesn't want to use any more steroids or strong medications, The dr recommended I take a break from the squaric acid and try phototherapy for a few months to see if that works. Has anyone tried it and had success? Please let me know.
