Please Direct Me In The Right Direction..

Hi,
Does anyone know of a organazation that helps with low income familys for wigs?I have alopecia and am ready to hide in a hole.Since i have had some illnesses, i have ssi and need to wear a wig now,my eyelashes stopped growing along with eyebrows,and body hair.If any woman has gone through this u''ll understand the shame,low-self esteem.I hate myself and am constantly depressed.I know they help the cancer patients with wigs, anyone know where someone with alopecia can get help?
This is a sad situation,it has taken my life and put it on hold...

Hi

I'm so sorry that there isn't more help out there for those that do want to wear wigs. Do you have Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary in the USA. These clubs are sometimes very helpful with regards to funding a hairpiece. I have approached them in NZ and have had some positive outcomes.

Another organisation that helps children more so than adults is the Variety Club. I have a few people here that have been helped into a wig by contacting these people

There is also a couple of organisations on Wig Support that help people into preloved wigs. Maybe they could help as well.

I understand that money is an enormous factor for many when considering hair options. I hope that some of these organisations will be able to help.

ABOUT MY SITUATION.I KNOW THING'S LIKE THIS HAPPEN,BUT WHEN YOU GO FROM A BEAUTIFUL THICK HEAD OF HAIR,TO PATCHES AND TOP THAT OFF LOSE YOUR BODY HAIR,IT'S DEVASTATING...
