I have had Alopecia Universalus for about 19 years. I am 8 weeks pregnant and I feel that my immune system has shut down. Week after week I get sick with something new. I used to RARELY get sick before....

Has anyone else had this experience while being pregnant of getting sick more. I see in some of the posts that pregnancy is a natural immunosuppressant...do I just need to start being EXTRA careful about picking up illnesses now???

This is a great question! I too have AU, not pregnant, but am starting to think about it. Before the hair loss, I was relatively healthy. Had the occasional flu or cold, but was never constantly sick. I find that now I get everything. I'm a teacher, so I am surrounded by germs daily and there is no way around it. I've been thinking about when I do get pregnant and how I'll be able to stay healthy enough to work.

P.S.- Love your profile picture! We had the same wedding colours!
I have been AU for about 13 years and I rarely get sick.
