Seeing my derm in a few days.. probably gonna end up getting the cortisone shots.
Had a few questions.

I read someplace on here that you could get a cortisone shot to the hip instead, if that's true, it may be better to go that route since if the shots do work, it'll also help prevent any new spots from forming.
Is this actually possible to get the shot in the hip? Would it be as effective as getting it on the sight of the bald spot?

I've also read alot of mixed reviews.
Some good, some of them making me have second thoughts. Read a couple where they said the shot made them lose all of their hair.
Could the shot really be responsible for the hair loss?

I have seen a few webpages where cortisone shots can be taken intramuscularly vs in skin patches. Side effects seem pretty bad with weight gain, immune supression, diabetes, and muscle loss over a period of time..sorry, not trying to be a nuissance.

I know AA is unpredictable, how many people had their AA symptoms stop all together and was able to get off these shots? I'm shedding bad but don't see any new spots forming. My spot i have now appears to be staying the same size, if not, possibly growing very slowly

Kinda nervous bout seeing the doctor. From a small town, not sure how good this doctor will be in knowledge over alopecia.

Here is a link i found for intramuscular injections
