Strange question... Alopecia is quite a common thing, there are thousands of women on her who are bald...

Where are you all in the real world? Growing up I only ever knew one bald woman.. The school dinner lady, who wore a wig and only told me cause she wanted me to feel less alone in my journey with alopecia.

I since the. Have only met 1 woman with alopecia! And it was half way accross the world on holiday! She approached me wearing a head scarf and told me her story and how she was so happy o meet a bald woman an how proud she was that I didn't cover up.

Surely there is more people in the world that don't cover up? I've never met anyone else and it does sometimes feel like I am alone.. Having alopecia doesn't bother me in the slightest it might just be cool to chat with someone in real life about it, how to tell my son about it, how to help him through having it as well (I think he might)

Feels strange being the only bald girl I know...

Go to a conference or local support group, where you will meet many others. www.naaf.org

I am 20 years old. I was diagnosed when I was three, and I lost all my hair when I was in the fifth grade. I've been bald for the past 11 years. I'm beautiful, and you, you are definitely not alone.

Thanks guys, I looked at support groups before but there isn't any near me, all an hours drive (and I don't drive) I might see if I could set one up closer to home x
