Quick AA question

Hey there everyone Im a 21 year old male who has had alopecia areata for about 10 months now I have seen small patches of hair come and go and I have one main larger patch of hair on the back of my head which has been there since day one and hasnt seemed to change my question is why is it that smaller patches of hair seem to come and go while the larger patch has not changed at all?

Well I don't have AA I have AU so all my hair fell out, but I do get little hairs now and then but they fall out again. :(
I did a paper in school on AA and from what I learned about AA is that it does what it wants lol. I do not know why the bigger patches dont change. I wish i could help you, but I will be here if you want to talk.

I have the same probleme too ,i have a lot of patches (very small) ho come and go, the bigesst one did not change after one and half year, why ? i don't have no idea ,i think that when you have AA you have to cope with an insignificant things .

I see thanks for your replies everyone its so annoying not knowing why some things happen ..kinda getting tired of wearing a hat all the time but i feel more comfortable wearing it rather than getting people asking me what happend to my hair every day gets anoying sometimes

@ Jessica - has anyone in your family had AU before?

@ Maria - yeh i agree its weird though because i know of many people who have had AA but theres all grew back within 3-6 months I have no idea why mines taking so long to grow back I guess only time will tell if it will or not

No one that I know of has or had AA or AU I am the only one. When I was told I had it was the first time I had ever heard of it.
