Experienced Head Shavers,

I have been shaving my head for a few months (25% hair left and counting down) and have not been able to escape the dreaded razor bumps. Tried regular crappy razor, then Mach 3, then Schick something, then that new Headshaver that looks like a race car, and now a straight. I had my head shaved by a straight before and it didn't cause any problems, but that was before I initially developed the pink bumps all over my head. I let them heal recently (or so I thought) for a little over a week, and used  hydrocortizone, but they came right back. I even switched the kind of shaving cream and tried a pre-shave oil and after-shave lotion (not like aftershave your grandfather uses, it was a creamy, cooling substance). No difference, and it stings like mad!

When I shave, I go in the shower and stand in the warm water for 5-10 min, then go out and shave in front of the mirror with plenty of shaving cream. (I used to shave in the shower, but now with the straight razor I need the mirror so I don't slice open my head). Then I rinse with cold water and rub on the aftershave lotion. Even now, hours afterward, I can feel my scalp burn. I am just out of ideas and have no clue what I am doing wrong!

Feel free to share your opinion and maybe even your routine.

Hello! I've been shaving my head about a year now,and just recently starting using HeadBlade razors. So far,I haven't had one razor bump(knock on wood, lol), My routine consists of exfoliating my head with HeadBlade's HeadShed scrub, which is delightful. Then I use Shea Moisture Women's Shave Collection, which is their Coconut and Hibiscus Shave Creme and then I spray on the Skin Healing Elixir immediately after I get out of the shower or if I shave in the sink. Finally,I use their After Shave Smoothing Moisturizer to keep my head smooth, and it slows down hair growth.

My advice to you is try to find products that have as little alcohol as possible. I hope this helps.
