Hi guys,

Im new to the site and I'm looking for some advice or some insights as to whats happening with my Alopecia Areata.

My alopecia started around last christmas at a time when my family and i were under great pressure both financially and personally. The AA grabbed hold fairly quickly and within a few weeks i had lost about 60/70% total of my scalp and facial hair... My eyebrows, nostril hair and eyelashes remained intact...After about 4 months i noticed small patches of hair gone from my legs and chest.

Suddenly out of the blue we had some much needed luck which promptly put an end to our financial worries which in turn eased the personal problems greatly. And along with this i soon started to notice regrowth on my facial hair and scalp and soon after my chest hair and legs.... its got to the point now where i have substantial regrowth in all effected areas. It is slow regrowth but i have to shave again which is good and of course all the regrown hairs are white. The patches on my scalp and face are far from gone at the moment but they are getting ever smaller.

Whilst this all sounds good and im delighted with my regrowth, ive noticed lately that my eyebrows have started thinning out and losing hair which leads me to my questions....

Is it still possible for my eyebrows to completely fall out even though i am showing signs of good regrowth??

Is this a sign that my AA is developed to AT or AU??

Has anyone else experienced regrowth and loss at the same time during AA?? ( i believe this happens on the scalp but not sure about different parts of the body )

My motives for my questions arent based on self consciousness. I am genuinely not afraid of what my Alopecia has in store... Its gonna do what it wants to do and theres nothing i can really do to stop it. If its going to take my eyebrows, then let it have them. My questions are only based on the fact that i dont like not knowing. For me its akin to standing face to face with someone and waiting for them to answer a simple question you just asked and having them stare blankly at you for hours.

Any insights/help would be greatly appreciated. Like all alopecia sufferers im just trying to understand a little more about whats happening to me and will be happy to answer any questions anyone has for me.

Kindest Regards
Dave
