Hello all!

My daughter lost all of her hair and was diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis at age 3. Nearly 1 year later she started throwing her hair. Interestingly enough, in the same pattern she lost in reverse. Now 1 approximately 1 year after that she has almost a full head of hair, (minus a few thin spots that are still filling in) At 5 years old, she is very happy to have her hair again.

My question is regarding typical daily loss of hair when washing or brushing. My daughter has plush and dense curls that require delicate care. I have noticed when I wash her hair or comb it (which is not daily) there are no hairs lost in the comb or when styling at all. Does anyone else have this experience with Alopecia and regrowth? We know there are no hard fast rules about hair loss. We also know that anything goes and we try to keep her prepared mentally for potential hair loss in the future. It's a rollercoaster for sure. What I seem to find in all of my "internet research" is that her hair is in the growing stage right now. Does that imply she will lose it all again at the same time?

Any info or feed back anyone has would be helpful. We are trying to be as educated as possible. We are grateful for what we have learned in this journey.

Thank you all!!
