This is a great article from the New York Times telling how the gene-theory, rather than previously-thought auto-immune theory, came about concerning alopecia.

This was also on AW Discussions under Publications last January.
The new U.S.A. budget, I heard on TV yesterday, will reduce research funding, and I know the blood sample study will end in September. Maybe it is time for some other countries to step up their research.
The majority of published and peer reviewed basic science research has been ongoing for decades outside the USA: Egypt, India, Canada, UK and Israel. Very little is performed in the USA. Following only the information provided by the naaf will provide the most narrow view of good, world wide published projects.
Then please add some. This is Alopecia WORLD!
