Went to the dermatologist. She suggested using rogaine or eventually shots, and possibly latisse for eyebrows. Has anyone used any of these. Audrey is 10.

hi B...did you get any skin darkening from using Latisse on your eyebrows? I am hesitant because most people have said it doesnt work for AA, and its expensive. For a year and a half my brows would fall and grow in a little, but now the growth has almost stopped and the remaining that I have are slowly falling out. Did you ever try rogaine for the eyebrows? I did for a while but it has a lot of alcohol in it and it aggravated the seborrheic dermatitis there. Is there a website where I can view the prosthetic eyebrow? Am curious!
My derm is great. He's worked with several AA and AU patients before and I have started seeing progress with it too (THANK GOD). I can draw in my eyebrows but I just hate having to do it. I am going to ask him if he thinks using something like Latisse would be beneficial to me. I have an appt with him in a couple of days.
Wow , Thank you to everyone for responding. I started giving her a supplement from GNC (Be Beautiful)
Its Chew-able and she loves the flavor Her eyebrows are slowly falling off, and the only thing is insurance wouldn't cover lattise. Hope you guys have a great night. Audrey says that all you women inspire her to be just be herself, which is naturally beautiful.
Hello every one, there is very promising news on the horizon in the microbiology world concerning Lform and biofilm form bacterial overgrowth within the human body and its direct correlation to inflamitory autoimunual diseases of all types. The studies show unmistaken connections between inflamitory diseases in the human body and internal biofilm bacteria that resides within the body gone undetected by current testing. Biofilm and Lform bacteria are the cause of all autoimmunal diseases the articles posted below show this. If interested please read the articles, personally I owe it to myself to read up on this current break through information. we are all victims of this current situation. If you wish to read the article just go to www.bacteriality.com and read Dr. Randalls discoveries on biofilm bacteria.
and also check out the Marshall protocol websites google Dr.Trevor Marshall or google the marshall protocol. I hope this information consoles every one who reads it in some way.
If you believe in this movement please let the word out contact your primary care physicians and inform them of this breakthrough information give them the websites so they can read the published articles and read about the current conferences and currently ongoing human trials in effect.
Reading this gives me hope! I hope there is a cure for alopecia in the near future. God knows enough people are praying for it!
I have had alopecia since I was 18 months old, and have done both rogaine and the shots. I used them from about 5-7 years old and I was miserable using them. It is very possible for your body to become immune to them and for it not to work anymore. Most children who try these treatments strongly dislike them and the shots are extremely painful. If you decide to try them, don't get your hopes up to much and also listen to your daughter and how she feels about them.
I used shots when I was little and had several small spots. The hair around the area fell out and then it all grew back!! I was without any spots until I was a teenager, then different areas fell out and again, I did the shots and it came back. Even now that I have AT, I noticed that in areas where I got shots, there is a little bit of hair growth.
It isn't as painful as people think but it is very traumatizing for a kid. If she chooses that route, just be very positive and supportive. She may get a little dizzy right after, but there really doesn't seem to be any side effects.
Good luck and God Bless!
Erica
