I have alopecia areata and on occasion I would have burning sensation on my scalp.  Has anyone experienced this?

No. It usually comes on for a day or two then passes. It does not bother me during the day but often leads to rough nights of sleep. I find red areas sometimes on my scalp and put some steroid cream on them. Don't know if that he,ps at all but it usually goes away. I do notice that if I have a few drinks too many drinks the day before it seems to be worse haha.

I get this, for me it's when I'm actively losing hair. It's painful! Icing it helps sometimes. Otherwise, I just try to ignore it.
