Has anyone ever heard of scalp micro pigmentation? I am thinking about having it done. It is a permanent solution. It basically resembles a tattoo and acts as a camoflauge . So , although I am only AA. In any scenario if it grows back good but if it doesn't or if it grows back and falls out again no one will know the difference because you will a already have camoflauge there. It looks like real hair. I get cortisone injections every month and my derm says I am recovering slowly but surely. He did the hair pull test at my last appointment.and said that the hair loss has basically stopped . What I find that worked for me was coconut oil shampoo and a very healthy diet . A lot of green vegetables and daily intake of three servings of fruit . I never had as until I was 23 I am now 25. It seemed to show up immediately after my grandmother died and I was going through a very stressful time . I still don't believe that it is genetic . I am the only one in my entire family that has it or has ever had it . In my honest opinion I believe it was triggered by trauma and stress . I use to have very thick curly dark hair .

Where to start...
I know about micro pigmentation. I choose not to do it as the results I've seen for the most part look to fake.
It's a pretty well known fact that AA is an autoimmune disease. It is also known that it is hereditary even if you are the first known patient in your family history.
What they don't know is what the trigger is that starts the disease process. The best news with AA is that the hair follicle is not scarred. Therefore regrowth is possible when and if the disease process turns itself off.
Just my thoughts.
Best wishes!
