Hi all,

I've had alopecia universalis for the last 2 years. I just wanted to know about scalp micorpigmentation for women. Has anyone had this procedure for AU?

Any thoughts / advice would help.

Thank you,

S.

Scalp Pigmentation for several kinds like (medical hairline tattoo) depend on hair style and extent.

I was at a meeting in London last year held by 3 dermatologists and there was a guest speaker whose company do micropigmentation equipment. She showed us photos of before and after. It looks good on men, just like a very short haircut but on a woman it would look like you have shaved your hair off and it has a few weeks of regrowth. So as a woman it is not going to work for me. I have my brows tattooed and also eyelash enhancement with tattooed and they are great but for the scalp on a woman I don't think it will be a satisfactory result. It would possibly be ok if you have diffuse thinning and you just want to make your hair look thicker but for an area that is hairless then no.

Hi

I agree with Debs, I would think it is an excellent option for men, but maybe not so great for woman.
