This morning,  I went out to grab a few things from the store for breakfast whena guy walked up and said 'Can you buy me some breakfast, bald headed.' I had to ask him to repeat himself just to make sure of what I heard.  I wanted to respond beyond walking away realizing he has some personal and mental issues that allowed him to say something so cruel.

This is not the first time,  nor the last time, that someone has said something so callus, hurtful and ignorant. Sometimes,  I've been able to let things go,  but not to day. How do you respond to a comment like that and regain confidence?

I'm so sorry. Focus on everything good you have going on in your life. You are much stronger and happier than someone like that. They are clearly very miserable if they feel the need to put someone down like that. You are NOT alone, hang in there! :)

I'm very sensitive to comments as well. I've has alopecia totalis since 5 years old. I can tell you that young women are not attracted at all to bald men and they are extremely vocal about.

If it was socially acceptable for men to make open statements about women's appearance the same way women do about men, I doubt most women would say anything.

Hi

As I see it his ignorance and possible (mental illness) is not something you should focus on.  You know who you are and it isn't defined by some weird man.  He doesn't need to figure into your thoughts except for you to know that his thinking is not right and you know yourself better than he does. (thank goodness)

Carry on being the fab person you most surely are.
