Sex in a Freedom Wig
Im 25, have had alopecia for a few years and have been wearing a wig for 3.
I just ordered my first freedom wig!!
i normally wear cheap lace front wigs i buy from china. i do everything in them swim, sleep, work out, have sex and they only last a few months. I know i'm not supposed to sleep in my freedom wig (which is freaking me out enough as it is when it comes to men) but i'm wondering if it's ok to have sex in them. The idea of having to say "sorry i'll just take my hair off" before we get down to the deed has me mortified.
any words of wisdom?

That is a tough one Lola. It depends on how active you are and what position:). Your hair will knot if you are on bottom. Is it possible to change wigs to on older one in the bathroom right before? Your guy most likely will Not know the difference, esp if you can put it in a pony or up some how. He is not looking at your hair! When dating, I used to have to say, "Please dont pull on my hair".

Ha ha! How true! Even during kissing, so I always said " I dont like my hair touched". Especially early on I didn't feel like sharing so much. Or go for an old guy, and he really wont care:)!

Freedom doesn't recommend sleeping in your Freedom wig...it will cause you issues. But this is the balancing act that you have to decide for yourself. If it is important for you to do this your expectation around longevity and durability has to change. As how long a Freedom Wig will last under these circumstances is really difficult to guage. This really would be the same with any type of wig not just a Freedom Wig. I would definately get a wig that is similar (like your chinese wigs) if you want to sleep etc :) in something.
I understand these challenges. This is something I have discussed with my own daughter many times and this is what I advised. If you are going to be intimate with somebody you should feel close enough and trust them enough to be able to discuss your alopecia etc. I know this puts extra pressure on your relationships but it also weeds out the unworthy from the stars.

You're right in that it weeds out the unworthy ones. It's so confronting though, especially because you want to feel sexy and desirable during sex. Without my hair i feel like a hermit crab missing its shell!

Excuse my language...it's one of those times I think bloody alopecia. I understand and I think I would feel the same. The decision is absolutely yours, just that it does have ramifications for any wig.

My input: I never sleep in my FREEDOM piece, but I do have sex with it on. In my experience, it's never caused breakage or caused the piece to fall apart. I say GO FOR IT. It's great to feel sexy with a FREEDOM piece on. After having been married awhile, having hair on for sex is totally optional. My hubby thinks I look great with or without. Since I have older FREEDOM pieces, sometimes I'll just go switch to an older piece. he NEVER knows... it's not my hair he's looking at!

I wear my vacuum wig all night when I have my boyfriend staying or when I am staying in a hotel with other people for work.
I don't share my situation with anyone except my doctors because I want to feel like I have some control over that, and once you tell anyone, you give up that security. People know that I went through a hard time after my husband committed suicide. They know I lost a lot of hair, but I got wonderful guidance from professionals and started getting extensions before it got too bad. I now have AU and wear a great wig, but the transition not very noticeable. I don't want people to always be looking at me differently in my small community so my hair is my business. Having said that, I want you to know that you can feel secure in wearing your Freedom wig to swim, shower, sleep or have sex. You just have to remember that wearing it to bed will make it wear out/look damaged sooner. I wish you luck and happiness!

When I was 27 I face with such problem as hair loss too. That moment I don`t know what was the problem of it. I eat healthy food, always made morning exercises and even don`t have any problems at work. The problem was in my sexual life.
