Hello Everyone,

I am curious if anyone out there knows anything about short cycling... I was diagnosed with CTE and mild AGA per biopsy. My hair was shedding like crazy for 2.5 years (200+/day). In January the shedding decreased to normal (30-50/day w/ shampooing and blow dry daily). I felt like it started to thicken up slightly, however, a few months ago I noticed that short hairs were falling as well and now it is thinning rapidly. I don't have much left :( The thinning is diffuse, literally all over my scalp, absolutely no pattern.

I have read that this is probably short cycling. I am confused because I have seen multiple explanations regarding short cycling. I have read that it is a form of CTE all of it's own. I have also read that it is a sign that CTE is recovering and must go through a few short cycles before any "healthy new growth" takes place. I have new growth, but it seems unable to keep up with this "process." Does anyone know if Rogaine would help with this? I am hesitant because of the dread shed....

Any info from someone who has experienced this would be great!

Thanks,

Jen
