Hello, I wanted some advice on if I should cut my hair or not. I have a few bald patches on the bottom of my scalp and lower hairline. It isn't to the point where it is visible (hopefully it doesn't come to this) but I do have pretty long hair thats about 22 inches. Ive always had really long hair. After showing my mom my brush after combing my hair out after a shower she said I should consider cutting my hair a medium length so its not so weighed down. Do you think this would help? My hair thickness is kind of in the middle. I'm just so scared my hair won't grow back but I'm losing so much and it is so painful to simply stroke my hair and end up accidentally pulling out these super long lose strands of hair. That kills me. I don't know what to do.

I'm not someone that has ever had super-long hair (longest I've ever had is maybe an inch or two above my bustline). What are you hoping cutting your hair will do? If you think it will feel less weight down, then yes, it probably would. If you think it's doing to stop the shed and patches, it unfortunately will not do that.
I have heard from my hair loss sisters that having shorter hair is "less traumatic" (is that even possible), when the hair is shorter, though. Something about seeing less of it in the brush, on the floor, etc. helps.
I was just hoping that with cutting it shorter would be less traumatic in terms of seeing the long pieces everywhere. Thank you for your response I appreciate it!
