Hey, yall! Its the dragongirl, again! Now, if I haven't mentioned it before I do have Androgenetic Alopecia. It is hormonal. I am currently treating it with the bc pill Yaz due to its hormonal properties. Now, I have a question to all my fellow hair loss sisters. Has anyone tried Spironolactone? I really am desperate to try it but am fearful do to hearing horror stories about the side effects. Is there anyone on here that could shed some light on this? Much appreciated!

What side effects have you heard about?

I've been on spironolactone for years to help with oily skin, just in the last month I've been told I have androgenetic alopecia, so for my situation, this medicine did not help me from not getting alopecia. However, this past week I got steroid injections and now am applying minoxydil (male strength) to my scalp. We're a little confused with the "androgenetic" type as I don't have a family history of any alopecia.
