Spots and NOW thinning?

Has anyone started with AA spots and then had thinning begin too? I have my big spot in the back (disguisable) but recently the crown of my head has started shedding quite badly. So now I'm thinning on top! So much so that I went ahead and ordered my first wigs to get used to them before it gets even worse. What is up with that? I thought classic AA was patchy bald spots, not this thinning nonsense!

I'm actually experiencing the same thing and it is quite disturbing. I was newly diagnosed with AA in August and have 2 patches one large and one small but I've been able to hide them. However now next to the large patch my hair very noticeably thinning and I feel like another patch is coming. I have had a lot of burning in that area which happens before my hair starts falling out. Do you get that as well?

Ugh, I do. My hair just keeps shedding non stop on top. Especially when I wash my hair.
