I guess my question is, does everyone use steroids to induce the hair regrowth? It seems to be the mainstreams doctors solution for everything. I am curious to know if anyone has experienced hair regrowth without the use of steroids?

I used the steroids for 8 months and my hair grew back (most of it) but I lost all of it (totalis) during treatment so stopped altogether. I decided to leave my hair alone and not do anything. It started to come in on the sides very slowly after a while so I thought "if some of it wants to come in, surely the rest will too" so I made a conscious effort about 5 months ago to address this condition once and for all. I am doing it all naturally - no products (except vitamins) that I have to buy or doctor's appointments any more. Here is my story with an update of the progress that I am making www.natural-treatment-for-alopecia.com/chris
I took prednisone when i was had about 50 % loss and regrow everything back ,but when i stop it came right off and its not good to stay on them ,so its like a tease if you ask me.
Just say NO! Does it grow back hair - Yes - but at a price. I was on a steroid treatment when I first lost my hair at 18. It grew back - but I was on steriods for so long that I now have adrenal insufficiency - so I am now dependent on steriods for life. My hair fell out again 17 years ago - so even with use of steriods, no hair.
