Hello.

I am new to this site and to Alopecia. I am 28 years old and developed a small spot last June. I did the shots for about 6 months and the hair did not grow back. It has gotten a little bigger as well (now to about 3CM in diameter). My dermatologist did a biopsy and found no inflammation which is why the shots weren't working. She also said it was alopecia areata.

Now I don't know what my options are. She wants me to try immunotherapy so I have a consult for that in March with a different dermatologist.

I also have been doing acupuncture and the acupuncturist was really hating on the steroids and wants me to try using a plum blossom needle.. a little nervous about hitting my head with little needles.

Anyone recommendations are greatly appreciated or if anyone has experienced something similar to what I am going through?
