Sunbeds?

Hey, I'm going to go for a sun bed, I was wonder is it ok to go in with nothing on my head or will it badly burn? Also, I've read a few things about it helping with hair growth, has anyone experienced this? I think I'm going in Thursday do I would appreciate if someone could give me a bit of advice :)
