Does anyone know of a support group in the Arlington, Texas area? My daughter is 13 years old with alopecia areata. She has lost all her hair twice and I think would enjoy meeting people her age with the same condition.

Hi Julie - I just sent you a personal message. Please visit naaf.org for the contact info for the NAAF support group in Dallas. It is lead by two wonderful women. I believe there is a meeting coming up either at the end of Nov or beginning of Dec. I wish you much luck and hope to meet you and your daughter at the next event.
Best Regards,
Kim
Thanks Kim. I will give them a call. Hope to meet you soon, too.
Hi
Thought I'd pop in and say hi. I also have a daughter with alopecia, she was diagnosed when she was 12 years old (she's now coming up 21). I did exactly what you are doing when she was younger. I introduced her to the alopecia community in my country and around the world. It very much helped her to realise that she was going to be alright and that life with alopecia didn't necessarily need to be a negative. There are so many positive role models in this group and others around the world and I'm sure you will be able to meet up with some in Texas.
I don't live in Texas or the USA, but if I can ever be of any help just pop into my page and say hi.
Take care
Rosy
Can't remember if I responded but, if not, thanks so much Rosy. It is such a difficult thing to deal with. I wish no one had to go through it. Take good care of yourself and your daughter.
Julie
