I am looking for a synthetic wig with long hair, with so many to choose from I am having a hard time to pick. My main concern is the quality, I would like to have something that will last me a while. Which are good brands that make quality synthetic wigs? I am also not sure if I should go with heat resistant fiber or not. Would love to hear from others what experience they have made with different brands.

i just buy wigs online and they are not too expensive for me. i can't bear wigs with brand.

Hi Chrissy,

We are a wig store located in Houston, TX, but we have many wigs available on our website you may want to check out. We carry premium synthetics, so quality is much higher and longer lasting. Of course your lifestyle and maintenance of the piece will directly affect the lifespan of your wig. We recommend checking out the following brands: Tony of Beverly, Rene of Paris, or Noriko.

As for heat resistant fiber, it's our experience that if a wig is synthetic at all it is best to leave it as is and perhaps buy different styles to suit your different needs. Synthetic fiber can be temperamental and you decrease the lifespan of the piece attempting to heat style it.

I'm looking at buying from QD. You mentioned somewhere that they last you around five-six months or so....do you sleep in them? Just trying to figure out how long they might last. Thanks!

I usually do t sleep in wigs unless I have company. In that case I will use a wig that I am no longer wearing everyday. Sometimes its cold too and I'll wear one to go to sleep. I have read that if you want to sleep in your wig you should sleep on a silk pillowcase. When I do wear a wig to sleep, I dont but if you're planning on wearing it every day, I think you should look into it so that you can prolong the kids of tbs wig ;)

Thank you for your reply, that is helpful. I've heard sleeping in a wig puts a lot of wear and tear on them and shortens the lifespan. Do you tape? If so, do you do it every day, like before work? How long does it take you? I'm OK with not sleeping in it most nights, except for in situations like you mentioned, but at home alone I'm fine with it, but that would mean I'd have to tape it daily and I'm not sure I have enough time to do that every  morning as I work long hours. So many things to learn!!

Sorry I just saw this. Yes I tape and when I tape my head, the tape ends up transferring to the wig. It lasts on the wig for about 2 weeks but I was my hair once a week. I don't usually get custom. I have in the past gotten it from other companies. Its nice but in my case not necessary

One more question :-)

Do you get the stock pieces or prefer custom? Thanks again!

I buy inexpensive wigs to sleep in, usually short. Right now I wear Meg, a Paula Young brand, to bed every night. It's very sturdy (I think because it's short) and I have been wearing it every night for months. I never sleep in my good wigs -- the ones I wear in the daytime (they are a lot longer, too).

Can you talk on the phone to a new devastated member if so please send number
Where did u get the wig in your picture. Nice
