Thank You

I am brand new to this site, and I am so plesantly surprised to see how many of us there really are. Growing up, I always heard I was not alone, but that's a hard pill to swallow when there is no tangible evidence. Reading your experiances has really filled me with a sense of belonging!! I just want to thank you all for sharing, and I hope to get to know some of you better!

I didn't even know alopecia existed until I found my first spot 6 weeks ago. Now I've found this wonderful site that I know is going to help me on my journey.

Hey Steve, Welcome to AW. I know exactly what you mean - I felt the same way, I use to ask myself "why me?" but I believe that was because I thought I stood alone. Then one day I came across this incredible site. When I saw the # of members on here I said "WOW!!" Thank you God - I'm not alone on this journey. You'll soon find that this is a great site with great ppl and awesome experiences that do indeed help you through this journey. You'll soon see that you can spend hours here. Until we chat again.

I've never heard of siblings with it. My great great grandfather had it, but that's all we know about in my family. I've lived with it for 22 years (WOW has it really been that long?). How about you?

I agree I am new to this site too and it's amazing when you see so many other people when you think you are the only one. I hope to get some confidence out of reading and speaking to you all.
