I also read about this treatment a few years ago.  I hope I don't sound like a debby downer, but stem cell therapy may also be a treatment vs. a cure.  Towards the bottom of the below article, written in 2009, a dermatologist performed stem cell therapy on eight children and had various levels of success.

The difference as I understand it between these two approaches, is that in this Chinese instance they are "re-educating" the attacking immune cells from the blood, by taking them out and exposing them to stem cells, then putting them back in where they "reeducate" other cells. In the case you cite and the California treatment mentioned early they are injecting into the scalp. On the company's website (which I still don't know is not BS) there is a good visualization of the concept: http://www.tianhecell.com

Yes, the one that looks promising is the one that reeducates the attacking cells. There are others using stem celks, but they are not the same procedure as the one in China. Thanks Jen, let us know if you hear back.
Ok cool. Has anyone reached out to their partner facility in Hackensack, NJ? In fact Hackensack University Medical Center has a clinical trial on clinicaltrials.gov using stem cell educator therapy to treat type 1 diabetes. Trial id: NCT02624804. The trial posted in December 2015.
Page 2 of the below forum provides details about the procedure. A family from the U.S traveled to China a few years ago to get their daughter treated.

I read that whole thread. It seems like the girl they treated in China was not cured per se but has not got worse, which is unusual. My understanding of diabetes is that the pancreas is permanently damaged by the immune system, where in AA there is always hope. In theory, of the two, Alopecia would be easier to treat in this method. Something to follow for sure.

In the trial i posted all cured ...in first page.
