Okay so I'm pretty new to dealing with hairloss from my Alopecia Areata. I have about 5 or 6 quarter sized spots and one larger spot. The smaller ones I felt an uncomfortable burning type sensation (best way I can describe it) however the larger one I feel the burning type sensation but it more pain then uncomfortable. I have been wearing a wig couple hours a day and take it off once I get home. I have no irritation wear the wig would be. Can anyone shed some light please.

I've had this happen for several years. My scalp not had this "burning sensation", but these big painful LUMPS that would hurt to even touch them. Not only that, my hair was coming out regularly at palm-sized clumps every week.  I thought it was normal hair shed.

I would put salicylic acid on them, and on some occasions, these lumps  (at least 2 at a time)would recede into small pustules then burst.

I was on this huge hair vitamin kick.  This not only included a daily mega-vitamin, but also 3 other hair growing vitamins, plus.

The one ingredient that i noticed that each of these had was a high dose of Vitamin A. That one will not only stay in the system but over time will build a high level of toxicity.  Causing liver, eye problems, hair loss and painful scalp problems.

When i added them up? i was at over 25,000+IU a day.  This build-up happened after over 10+ years of desperately finding the "ultimate hair-growing" miracle pill.

On top of this i  was drinking water, at least a gallon a day + exercise, so i thought i had no "toxicity" problem. WRONG.

When i cut them out of my regimen.  The Lumps immediately receded.  Now whenever i wash my hair i lose a few strands, but nothing near as much as when i was OD'ing.

But always remember.  AA is unpredictable, you just never know what could cause the symptoms.

That's my own personal experience.  Hope that helps.
