Hi. I'm a 29 year old male with black hair and about about 8 months ago I started growing a beard and I noticed that I didn't have any hair growth in a section by my neck. I thought it was just the way my hair came in, but then about 4 months ago I noticed a hole in my beard made up of thin white hairs and I realized that I had alopecia. Shortly after a large part of my pubic hair stopped growing in and about 1 month ago the alopecia spread to the back of my head, with two round sections about an inch in diameter.

As of right now the alopecia on my beard has been getting worse. I see individual hairs turning thin and white and then stop growing and the hole that I first noticed has gotten bigger. My pubic hair hasn't grown back. I don't think the alopecia on the back of my head has spread but I recently shaved my head so I can monitor it better.

My question is, do my symptoms suggest a possibility of AU because the alopecia has so far affected my head, beard and pubic hair? Has anyone here ever lost their pubic hair and had it grow back? Just wondering what I should expect based on my symptoms so far.

Thanks.
