Hi Ashlee,
Have worn Vacuum wigs for many years and they have worked great for me. What would you like to know? But sorry cannot help with the Lace wigs as I have never worn one.
Cheryl :)
I have worn both kinds of wigs. For a vacuum wig, you need to be completly bald... if you are not, you would have to shave. I have also heard that they are hot. I do not think they are, but some people think they are. Also, you cannot sleep in them....it ruins the wig. Pros are...they are made with the best hair, they DO NOT move unless you want to take it off, You can do whatever you want in them, including swimming. They last 3-5 years, they are very easily maintaned...I could go on forever...so, let me know some specific questions you have.
As far as lace, these work for some people too. I did not like mine because of the type of hair that was used. It was remy hair...I think Indian, not European...so be really careful about the type of hair you select. I did not like dealing with tape and glue either. Also...they need maintenence done more often...mine shed a lot. But...they are cheaper, I guess cooler also. However, they tend to itch...vacuum wigs do not. They do not last as long as V. wigs. Hope this helps. If you have more questions message me. Also, there are pics of both wigs on my page.
I was adviced not to wear vaccum wigs since it gets too hot in India during summers & my scalp will sweat like anything! If u live in a colder country then u can wear it. For lace wigs, they r very expensive in India. Also, i dont like glueing my wig again & again. So i felt elastic wigs r comfortable.
I would suggest that try all kinds of wigs wen u go to the parlour to buy it & choose the rite one in which u feel comfortable in, keep the weather conditions, taking care of the wig & gurantee of duration in mind, which should b at least 1 year.
My last wig lasted till 2 yrs!!
Hi Ashlee

When you are looking for a hairpiece you need to educate yourself a little about what is available and what is going to work for you.

Everybody that wears a wig will have fairly strong opinions about its pros and cons (as they will love their choice) of course, otherwise they wouldn't be wearing it.

You really need to work out what you want from a wig and what wig is going to work best for you. So investigate carefully and I'm sure you will come up with something that works well for you.

Good luck

I live in California and I would really like an estimate of the cost of a vacuum wig.
It depends on the length of the hair you order, but they run in the ball park of about $3000.
