When Did You Splurge on an Expensive Wig?

I've only been AU for 5 months (It started as AA 17 months ago).  I've been wearing $150 synthetic wigs, and I'm getting tired of them already.  I have been considering getting a vacuum wig, but I didn't know if I should wait to see if my hair grows back!

I kind of feel like it will be Murphy's Law that my hair will grow back once I order the wig.  I am already experiencing eyelash regrowth and very light hair over my lip (which I now have to wax, which annoys me to no end because it's so unfair!)

So...when did you decide to get an expensive wig?

Hi Aimee,

I decided to get an expensive Freedom wig as soon as I realized that all of my hair was coming out. I have been AU for about 10 months now, and I ordered my Freedom wig right away. I feel like hair is a really important part of peoples' identities (even thought it's kind of vain), and feeling like we are putting our best foot (or should I say head of hair forward), is absolutely critical in terms of our own happiness and success. Of course, now I am very comfortable going bald in public, but it is good to have my Freedom wig there, too!
