White hair

Hi.. I have had alopecia for 17 years now and the last time I got any sort of regrowth was around 5 or 6 years ago...my hair came in white but didnt change colour.. so I have this long white thin hair on my head.  But its only in random patches... the top of my head mainly. Has anyone else had this long white hair? Its kind of  coarse as well not like normal hair. And it doesnt fall out it just stays there like that its weird.
