Although this is a small group, I wanted to share that there is a new NAAF support group in San Antonio. We had our first meeting on Saturday and over 30 people attended! It was a wonderful, positive and helpful meeting. If you are interested in future events, please send me a direct message with your email address and I will send along to the leader. There will be many events planned this year - support, social gatherings, fun for kids, family, adults, etc. Hope to hear from you! It is always nice to meet others when the opportunity arises!

I am wondering if this group is still active. We live in the area and would love to find other children for my daughter to meet.
Thank you.

Hi Dena!

Unfortunately, I do not believe the NAAF SA group is still active. But there are ALOT of us here in TEXAS!! AND the next NAAF conference is IN San Antonio this June. Woohoo!

It might be best to send a message out to this group as well as the Texans group to ask if folks are interested in getting together socially in your area. Also, the Dallas group is up and running and the contact for that area is as follows:

Dallas
Tamika Prunty
972.294.9642

It may be worth a day trip up there for their next get together. It is a fantastic group of people. :) How old is your daughter? if I know of specific families who have children around the same age - I will facilitate for you.

Best,

Kim

By looking at this site I cannot tell if thia group is active. I live in the san antonio area and would like more information. thanks

Yes, San Antonio NAAF group is alive! Please contact support group leader (information listed above) to be added to her email list!

Best,
Kim

Hi Sara,

The short answer is that I am not sure. The leader is no longer listed on NAAF's website, but she may still be listed in the most recent newsletter (I'm sorry, I don't have in front of me). The last I checked, she was thinking of changing from a support group leader to a telephone support resource but I'm not sure if this happened yet.

BUT something wonderful to share - the annual NAAF conference will be in San Antonio this year (June!) This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet others in Texas and throughout the country!

Hope to see you there! Best, Kim

I have a daughter with Alopecia and live in the San Antonio area. If anyone has a child with Alopecia or is a family dealing with Alopecia, I would love to get together. My daughter was diagnosed about two years ago and she still hasn't met anyone else with Alopecia. She is very outgoing and confident and loves to meet new people. If anyone is interested just message me and maybe we can get together.

Hi, I have a 5 1/2 year old daughter also that has been diagnosed with Alopecia.  I live in Laredo, but travel to San Antonio often.  How old is your daughter?

My daughter is 7 years old. She would love to meet your daughter. Please let us know next time you are in San Antonio.
