Thank you for checking Evan. We had decided to bring it along as long as it was allowed. My cell number is 603-662-8698 for anyone that may need it. Can't wait to meet everyone.

Love and Hugs,
Dotty

Dotty - I checked with the park today - gas grills are permitted. Your call, but if you bring extra filled tanks, my guess is people would drop you a few bucks for the convenience of allowing everyone to make use of your gas grill.

Anyone call call my cell on Saturday morning until we get enough 'hair shy' massed that new arrivals will know where our group is. 508-341-2070.

Donna, I'm really bummed out. You should bring your guests with you!!!! I was so looking forward to meeting you and your family. If we don't see you, we will have to plan another event so we can meet but I hope to see you. Evan, I am hoping to be there for 8 also but we have a 2 1/2 hour drive and we're hoping we will not hit any traffic. Can't wait to meet you all. I have a banner and have made some signs so we can take lots of pictures. Evan, do you know if it's okay to bring a gas grill?? Please let me know.
Love and Hugs,
Dotty

If I'd known you were going to cut/paste what I wrote, I'd have used spell check : )

I will attempt to be there at 8am myself to secure a home base. Reading what I wrote below - it's either bring your own charcoal (for the park's grills) OR your own grill/hibachi and charcoal. I would recommend tin foil as well for use on the park's grills.

Looking forward to meeting everyone, and don't forget the sunscreen!!!!

FYI - there is an ice cream truck that roams the park all day

Again, I am copying Evan's information....I am going to get there for 8 as soon as they open but feel free to take your time and arrive at your leisure. There will also be a "Support Alopecia Awareness" banner so we can mark off our space :-)

"The grills, picnic tables, etc. are on a first come, first serve basis. People need to bring their own charchoal/utensils/etc. OR their own hibachi-style grills.

The upper beach has the grills/tables within 50 feet of the beach, plus the water is warmer than the lower beach, so that is my recommendation. If you can arrange for a few people to be at the park right at 8am on the 17th, we can attempt to secure a few grills and tables for the others, but I can't guarantee we can hold them. If it's a hot day, the people flood in early.

Directions are simple once entering the park - after paying the $5 entrance fee - bear to the right at the split and follow the road down the hill. Park at the far end of the lot which will be on the right. The grilling area is in the woods which abut the life-guarded beach.

FYI - for those parents bringing little ones - the life guards are sticklers for safety - no water wings, or other unapproved flotation devices are allowed in the water, even if the parents are right next to the kids.

From this 'central' location, people can wander all over, rent boats, walk over the dam to the lower back and swim there, etc.

Clarification - when people are at the bottom of the hill after bearing right - drive PAST the boat launch area to the large parking lot and park at the far end, close to woods / bathroom building.

You can put up signs or string banners between trees if you have them so everyone knows where home base is"
