When do you become an atheist when I stopped believing in Odin or Thor which God is it that not believing in makes you an atheist. Its usually the God of the person your talking that makes you an Atheist. There are 3267 franchises of the christian region all with different beliefs all who disagree with each and all who believe they the only ones god wants in heaven, I feel for Christians trying make their way ti heaven on a gamble they re in the right one and say for interest ti the Muslims who are right what they going to do then, We Atheists have it easy we have our belief. we don't blame anyone for our troubles we don't thank anyone except ourselves for our success. no-one is making us suffer to learn a lesson we can learn fine on our own, we dont have to wonder if the priests a pedophile whose been sent to the parish as a cover up. I must admit I ws almost converted to The Norse Gods after seeing Thor was he hot or what i would go gay for him, and those butch leather uniforms very virile. Angels poncing around in white robes and harps running to God tor let him know who is not going to get into hell damn snitches. The truth does set you free and i challenge any god from any time to strike me dead. Still here PS if Hell is real I have booked a seat John Lennon, Hendricks Keith Moon Bon Scott the music is going to be maniac worth an eternity for harp music forever shoot me now

Agree 100 percent John!To believe unequivocally in a god whe there is no proof is the same as believing in fairies....only maybe they ARE real cos that odd sock pile keeps growing ;)

I don't think you become an atheist. You are born one. You become Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Pagan, etc. We become what we are taught to believe as truth. I believe it goes against our very nature as human beings. It is our nature to be curious, to question, to explore, to seek truth. Religion stifles those instincts.

Succinct and truthful I wished I had expressed as you have, was a revelation to find out that the truth really does set you free from the lies, misogyny , and cruelty of an old book written by old men for old men. Welcome to the group and AW in general it is a great site for giving and receiving support.

I agree. One question I get that always makes me smile is: "what happens when you die?", my answer of course is: "nothing- you're dead". Their reaction is always the same. Sadness. For me it's a sense of freedom. I am no longer living for some end; fearing the unknown results of my life choices which may or may not result in an eternity of pain or pleasure. I have one life. I have to make it count. Surprisingly being diagnosed with Alopecia has helped in that aspect. I cut through all the bullshit. It has forced me to really look at who I am and to be myself. I have no choice. I can not hide. I tried wigs and felt as if I were betraying who I was. I make no excuses and play no games.I don't have time. This is my life, and I won't waste it. I feel like the loss of my hair has made ME shine through. I am, who I am- and it is, what it is. My motto is: You don't like it- get to steppin'. Don't waste my time or yours. Cutting through the bullshit. :)

Hmm can you be a little more direct I am not sure what your feelings are LOL. Life challenges I fond much easier when I make decisions for myself and not rely on some religious dogma or man in a silly dress or silly suit telling me god gave him the answers. I am really waiting for the day that Benny Hinn cures someone of Alopecia then i may just become a re converted christian. keep up the hard talk Ms Hurley it is refreshing to hear.
