Yes, this has happened to me too! I developed AU quite suddenly (didn't linger at AA for any time) so have been without eyelashes for a while. I actually don't wear false eyelashes on a regular basis and this (the cold weather) is one of the reasons why.
I am sorry I don't have a solution. Perhaps another person does? I do wear Lise Watier Eye shine pencils on the lash line - they are smooth in application and waterproof- in case you decide to go without lashes. I would possibly try another brand of glue and see if it works any better.
Please let me know if you find a solution. I just wanted to respond to your post to let you know you're not alone!
It is nice to know I'm not alone! Thank you! I actually went without them today since it hasn't stopped snowing and I figure if they don't fall off, I'll end up pulling them off anyway!
I'll have to try the Lise Watier Eye pencils. I've tried so many types and many aren't smooth in the application.
Thanks for the tips!!!!
I use waterproof "Lashgrip" adhesive for my lashes and it has worked great in this -40 celsius we had here in Winnipeg the past couple of weeks. I'm guessing the eyelashes are falling off due to condensation of ice crystals or vapour? Maybe not but worth a try. It may be the waterproof glue that may help.
It can be bought at Superstore or Shoppers Drug Mart.
Thanks Jennifer! I will look for them and try them out. I tried the self adhesive ones but they fell off even faster than the others!
Hi Nicole!
I know exactly what you're talking about - I live in Ottawa! I find that if I apply a bit more glue and place the lashes slightly above the actual lash line, the lashes stay on better when I come in from the cold. I do a bit of a thicker eyeliner so that I can put the lashes higher up, and for some reason they don't then come off when I go from really cold to warm.
Goodluck!
