I was wondering if anyone can recommend a wig shop in Toronto that sells good quality, and reasonably priced wigs.

Hi fellow torontonians!
So im going to speak with a Lisa Foster at Freedom Hair Systems at 90 Sheppard Avenue East, Suite 107.
Has anyone ever been there?
Is anyone familiar with Lisa? She has said she has been working with Alopecia patiences for 20 years. She also make custom wigs. I have an appointment with her on Saturday and when we were speaking over the phone she had mentioned she wanted me to try Active 8 vitamins.
Has anyone ever heard of Active 8? anything?
This is the link for the vitamins:

That is the salon that I mentioned in a previous post, also called Discount Hair Direct. I went there only for a Gemtress/Onrite wig-so can't say anything about their consultation about treatments. But the prices for Gemtress are very very good. As I said, I now realize Asian hair in blond is not really what I want-but the wig is very well made and I love the cap. I didn't look at anything other than Gemtress. I found the staff fine and helpful.

I am looking to join a group from toronto.
I have been diagnosed with Fibrosic Alopecia, does anyone else have this condition. As anyone tried any medication that has helped?
I am new to alopecia, afraid confused, overwhelmed, can anyone help

Hi Veronica, I know your frustration. I've had alopecia since I was 18 months and have been wearing wigs for 9 years. 4 years ago when I moved to Toronto I went on a mission to find a new wig and style. I've been to many wig shops around Toronto and in waterloo and I have FINALLY found my go-to girl!! She carries many of the popular brands, synthetic as well as human at a very affordable price. Ive have buying my wigs from her for the past 2 1/2 years. She is the biggest sweetheart and hands down I recommend you contact her!

Veronica, I have had AU for over 10 years. I No longer live in Toronto (but I'm Canadian!! hence reading this group) and have felt as you describe. I have to say - like another poster above - I visited Continental Hair on Avenue Road when my hair was first falling out. I bought two synthetic Louse Ferre wigs. Lisa styled them. I was promised that the wigs would last almost a year. I had no idea what was going on - my hair was falling out and I was terrified. Each synthetic wig cost me $850 in 2000. So, $1700 in total - google a synethetic Louis Ferre wig - you'll see what a rip off that price is. Sure, Lisa cut it a bit but she also took the wig, washed it in WARM water (?????) and blew it dry with a blow dryer!? The wigs fell apart after 3 months of wearing. Thank God I found the Internet and started buying wigs online and never looked back.

I've met so many people who have been ripped off by Continental Hair.

There are many great sources of wigs but be careful what you get yourself into when you're just starting out.

It is going back 10 years but I recall at that time Lisa telling me she was moving to a salon on Sheppard Avenue so maybe this is the one referred to above???

gabis on bathrust st. real hair,

Hi all,
I'm the Freedom Wig rep for the Toronto and Eastern Canadian Region. These wigs are amazingly comfortable and I think naturally looking. The company has a one year warranty on manufacturing and they last on average between 2-5 years depending on the wearer of course. I love mine. If you want you can message me for more details.
Warm Wishes...I'm in a cold spell here.
Jenn
