The next Vancouver Alopecia Support Group meeting will be on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 10 am. Please email me at jeffreychristine@hotmail.com to confirm and I will give you my address. As Tanya mentioned, this group is for everyone - hair-wearer or au natural, treatment seeker or not, new to alopecia or experienced . Let's be a diverse and positive support for one another!

Also, fellow Alopecian, Rick Civelli, is hosting a FREE surf camp to raise awareness for alopecia - please support this event by spreading the word or by heading down to North Carolina to get in some great surfing with Rick! I am going to try to get to the event in 2012 - I always wanted to learn how to surf!

Thanks so much Tanya, for hosting this - it was great to meet you and the others. I am inspired to keep looking for what is causing my alopecia and appreciative of the makeup tips! I am looking forward to the next one (at my house?) How often do you want to get together?

Hello Fellow Canadian Alopecians!

Vancouverites - a few of us have started a support group in Vancouver, so send me a message to get notified of our next meetup!

We just had an awesome meeting - great people and great vibe. We can all relate to the alopecia experience, yet at the same time there's diversity: hair-wearer or au natural, treatment seeker or not, new to alopecia or experienced . Let's be a diverse and positive support for one another! ;)

Hi
does anyone know of a gathering for kids with alopecia in Canada? We haven't made it to the big one in the States yet. We are in Ottawa, and Evie is almost 6. Happy to get together with anyone nearby. We don't have any treatments for Evie at this point, just confidence building and cool hats

don't forget you can still access AlopeciaBoy.net if you need a refresher on the types of drugs most others have taken, as well as info on the professionals who are studying or have studied Alopecia. Have a groovy day everyone! By the way, I am still in Montreal, so anyone want something to do during the week feel free to email me :)

Hi pebbleinthesand
Have you tried vita B complex, it suppose to help with anxiety or stress. I have been taking it for years. Granted it didnt help with the hair loss but I did find it to take the edge off my stress levels and that is always helpful.
Also please consider coming for a visit to Edmonton, this event is not about being bald. (just a play of words for the event name) Everyone this is about just coming out together, come in your comfort zone and meet others.

Hello Everyone!
I recently moved from Ottawa to Calgary and the stress of the move (may have) triggered my AA to become AT/AU. Terri that's great what you did out in Edmonton! I wish I had the courage to go outside without my wig, but it's like a security blanket for me! Jeff: I don't know the effect of low vitamins/minerals on alopecia- but I've been taking vitamin C & D and multivitamins everyday since January but it didn't prevent my hair from falling out rapidly in march/april.

Hi Everyone
It's great to see an Alopecia group for Canadians. Are there any members in the Ottawa area? I live about 1 hour south, near Winchester. My Alopecia started about 2 months ago, and now I have no hair at all on my face or head. I'm not sure if this is related to the alopecia, but I am also very low on Iron and vit. d .
Does, or did anyone else have low levels of these or other vitamins or minerals?
Peace to all
Jeff
