I did it !!! Well its a start. I been in contact with our local baseball team, I made flyers, I contacted radio stations and tv. (still havent heard back from them) and still working on delivery of the flyers. But I did it !!!!! I created the first alopecia event for the city of Edmonton. So far the only people showing up are my friends and if thats all I get, well its a start. Now if I can get any of you here from alberta, canada coming out it will be a grand success of a first year for this hopefully annual event for alopecia awareness.

So here I go..... never one to think that I would be the one to start something like this. We all know the shame, embarrassment, and the hiding we do with regards to having alopecia. My grand beautiful idea and I hope to get many of a interest. I was going thru the events and festivals here in Edmonton and having gone to afew of them myself over the years.
July 8 - 17 is the Street Performers Festival located at Sir Winston Churchill Square in downtown Edomonton.
I would love to have fellow alopecians and supporters of alopecians in the area to meet and come out on one of these days. Lets show some support in numbers.

Hi Amy....A get together is just what I was thinking. My thoughts are if more of us get together, even as something as simple as a picnic or going to the zoo, we are showing power in numbers and giving a voice and ultimately giving strength to those that are still hesitate. How about a outing in Calgary and in Edmonton, kinda a fair trip for everyone. I am totally for it !!!!

Hey all you Edmontonians! I'm from Calgary and have been looking for some sort of group in the area, but have yet to find anything. What would you think about putting together some sort of meeting for anyone in Alberta? I have no idea how to go about it, but it could be fun! Like a summer picnic type thing at a park. Bring you're own food. Just to meet and make connections.
