This is my latest project -
My dad taught me a lot about woodworking - so I've taken old, redwood railroad toes and turned them into flooring tiles. It involves creating the tiles, which are about 3.5" square and attaching them to the floor in a pattern, then surfacing, shaping, sanding, etc.
The technique is called end-grain - becasue when its done...you can see all the bands and rings in the wood.
To date I have the floor covered, but still have hours and hours of sanding, expoxy-grouting and finish work ahead of me. TO be completed once I get some other construction projects - mainly a kitchen/dining room remodel completed.
This is my first attempt at making a floor :)
I am working on crocheting hats for kids with hair loss...adult hats as well. Here are some of the children's hats
