Let's use this thread to share our current projects!

Currently, I'm working on a doll set that is Valentine's themed and also comic/video game themed. The two dolls are characters from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, which was made into a movie last year. The designs for the dolls are from the game that was released, which was based on the comic. Anyway, I'm nearly done with the first half of the set, which I'm attaching to my post below.

I still have to work up the body for the boy doll in the set, which shouldn't take too long as long as I stay focused and don't get too tired.

The pattern is of my own improvisation, and I normally don't write them down, but anyone experienced enough with amigurumi (the technique used to make crocheted plush toys) could replicate this project easily. The facial features are made of felt, as well as the details on the jacket. I'm still working on the legs, which need weight. The hands have little magnets inside so she can hold hands, and the mouth area also has a magnet glued in to 'kiss' the boy doll once its finished. There is also 14 gauge appliance wire in the arms, which are bendable, and still stay in place. The last parts I have to make after the legs is her purse and goggles. She's mostly cotton yarn, cause I like how smooth it looks, but I couldn't find the right color for her jacket in cotton, so that's made with Red Heart Super Saver in blue. Other colors are Peaches n' Cream cotton in hot pink, white, and delft blue (hair).

(I should just start a blog on this kind of thing, huh?)

Share your projects! I want to see what all us crafty alopecians are up to!

Wow that's really neat. How long did it take you to get this far?

I shall post some pics once I have taken them of my bunting which is a WIP and of my bows, if I can find where I put them. I have so many random projects on the go at once... including knitting a dog sweater, a cross stitch embroidery and some jewellery making.
@Vicsta- The total time on the project so far has been about 12 hours, I rooted all the hair by hand and have been fiddling with the feet a bit, which took a lot of the time. I've done so much work on her, my hand has gotten really tired from holding the small hook I use, so I might have to get one of those ergonomic hook cushions so I can finish the set, plus the warm weather has been really distracting too, but it's too damp and muddy to do any crochet outside :\

My Dearest Jen ; ,

Tonight the temperature will drop to -16 C in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Please try to temper (no pun intended) the comments about it being too warm where you are ;). Lucky You :).

I finished the doll! Here's a pic!

I started working on the second doll, and only just started the rooting in the hair.
Hi Jen,

Your little girl is adorable. I love how she's waving as she runs toward us, very cute ! You must be a very patient person Jen because this looks like it would require a bit.

Big Hugs

Hello Everyone,

Currently I am working on making a candle holder or votive if you will. Here is a photo of what I am working with. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I want to make it look as lovely, fem, victorian and vintage as possible. I have ribbons, beads, crystals, decoupage glue, tissuepaper, many things to work with.

that doll is sooo cool!
I've been keeping busy since my last posting, and I got 2 dolls done, and going to start another one soon.
(Enough blabber, pictures!)

This one is the second half of the doll I posted previously (Scott Pilgrim from Scott Pilgrim v. The World series/movie)

Here's the second doll I did since my last post, it's a Pokémon! This is #572 and is named Minccino, and is based off a chinchilla. I had a lot of fun doing this one, especially those super cute big ears! Also, he's kinda floppy at the neck cause he's so top-heavy, so there's a knitting needle stuck through him for pictures.

Anyway, Marie, that candle votive would look really victorian wit a black ribbon around the base and a pretty cameo to accent a bow.

This is my latest project -

My dad taught me a lot about woodworking - so I've taken old, redwood railroad toes and turned them into flooring tiles. It involves creating the tiles, which are about 3.5" square and attaching them to the floor in a pattern, then surfacing, shaping, sanding, etc.

The technique is called end-grain - becasue when its done...you can see all the bands and rings in the wood.

To date I have the floor covered, but still have hours and hours of sanding, expoxy-grouting and finish work ahead of me. TO be completed once I get some other construction projects - mainly a kitchen/dining room remodel completed.

This is my first attempt at making a floor :)

I am working on crocheting hats for kids with hair loss...adult hats as well. Here are some of the children's hats
