I have a kind of odd question. Does any one of you have tinnitus? If you don't know what that is, it's a chronic ringing in the ears (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinnitus). It can take on many forms from a buzz to a "tea kettle" noise to the sound of your pulse. It can be caused by exposure to loud noises or it can come from health problems.
I randomly woke up with tinnitus one morning when I was 12 years old. I am now 30 and I still have it. I hear my pulse constantly in my right ear, and a weird, high-pitched noise in my left. I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm "hearing impaired" or anything, but this does interfere with my life in a few ways.
The reason I ask is because it has been linked to thyroid disorders, and my tinnitus began at almost the exact time my hair loss started getting noticeably bad, so I'm wondering if it's the result of some autoimmune or thyroid thing. I've never determined the cause.
I'm probably the only one here with this issue, but I thought I'd ask!
