Hi all
I am new on here since last night. I found an old group or discussion on here involving several members suddenly linking their mirena coil to their hair loss. After taking it out they found their hair began to grow back. I have never for a second linked my alopecia to my coil, but last night I finally realised that my hair had really begun to shed greatly within months of having it fitted, before the entire lot fell out a year later. I have been completely bald for nearly three years now, and cried and cried last night after reading the posts. Today I am taking my coil out and will see what happens. Has anyone else read these posts and tried removing too. I am not looking forward to heavy and long periods again and I don't know what I will do. But after having this inside me for four years and being bald for three, I just HAVE to see if this is the cause or not. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work and I stay bald and get heavy, painful periods - but I will simply have a new coil fitted if that is the case. I have nothing to lose. I will keep everyone updated, I promise. xx

Hello! I did not go bald but lost half of my hair as I had overly thick hair to begin with I even had some recession. It will take a min of 3 months my dermatologist said to grow back she kept me on rogaine for men and biotin 10000mcg ornsometjing like that! I cry every time I look at myslef and pray my hair will come back
I am interested in knowing more as well here is my post org post
Hi,
reading your story I could almost be reading my own. I have just had the coil removed as well, I only seen the comments here recently and realised my alopecia could be caused by my mirena coil. have you had any regrowth since getting your removed?
