My hair loss seems to be fully in this pattern now - gone above both ears and down around the bottom of my hair line. I'm missing about 2.5 inches from the bottom up. I wanted to ask, does anyone else with this get cold? I'm freezing! I can't think of what to do though to keep myself warm without the hair there. Headbands have been my only option so far, but I feel like a 90's teen wearing them with my hair down. Has anyone thought of a better idea?

As my hair started falling out, I cut it to a short bob and then I decided to bite the bullet and buy a wig. (Just in case I would need one in the future).
I used very wide headbands when not wearing a wig to cover my hairloss but due to my thinning hair, like you my head got cold... so with a combination of headbands, hats and my trusty wig, (that matched my existing hair style and colour, so no one knew I had alopecia) I kept warm. Best of luck.
I have never experienced being cold due to hair loss on the nape area. But then again, I AM in Florida. I am usually just plain cold in general. Oftentimes when in places where the a/c is turned down too much. Or when it gets in the 60's as it has been lately this week. Brrrr. And not just the kind of cold where I can put on a sweater and be fine. It is a deep down cold to the bone feeling. How weird. It isn't even ever COLD here. But I am !! My dry eye syndrome is making my eyes tear like crazy outdoors if the breeze is blowing - I was going to say WIND, but really, ???? And of course, my hair is still thinning all over.
mmmmm, Florida. :)
I'm in NY, its already snowing, haha.
Hi Sunflower25. I live in Finland and we have about 2 degrees Fahrenheit here at the moment. I never realized how much warmth my hair gave me... I have also worn head bands for a long time but bought my first wig about 2 months ago. If I go out with just a hat, I get really cold. I sometimes also wear a scarf or something at night to keep myself warm. I cannot believe my husband has shaved his head VOLUNTARILY all these years :D Head bands aren't that bad, actually and I'm sure you don't look like a 90's teen :) . Sorry, I have no better suggestions to give you.
