I'm starting an NAAF support group in Dubuque, Iowa. I have a friend in town who is 11 and suffering with AU and would love for her to meet you and your daughter Emmyjean. I'd love for you to meet. Please get ahold of me anytime either on here or whatever. Love to hear from you! Rose

I will start with myself and my daughter. A few months ago I noticed her eyelashes and eye brows were disappearing. Then there were a few spots on her head that then led to a larger. All were coverable by styling her hair so she never really said anything to me. I seen the larger when she was sleeping and decided to take her in and that is how we were diagnosed. She is 11 years old and the affect on her is remarkable. It has made her stonger as a person and as a mother to see her confidence in herself is amazing. I am so proud of her. As a mother, it hurts to see your child go thru something like this and she will slap me back into reality everytime I start the pity party on her and say, "Mom, its just hair. I am still me and I am ok and ok with it." God love this child she is stronger than I.
