Yesterday my daughter and I had a consultation with a hair studio that specializes in the Virtuesse hair replacement system. It is a form of hair bonding it is attached to the scalp by a dermal second skin material (the same material contact lenses are made of) and its 100% hair. It is so thin and realistic she will be able to wear her hair in a pony tail and no one will be able to tell. She is excited and it all seems almost too good to be true. I'm just tired of pumping chemicals on or in my daughter to achieved minimal hair growth at the risk of causing harm later. I just want her to be happy and feel like she fits in at school. However I am curious if anyone has experience with hair bonding and/or the virtuesse program? Pros and Cons welcome please..

This was a very helpful discussion to me. My daughter is 15, and also a competitive cheerleader like your daughter Tanya. I noticed your original post was made in 2009, making your daughter about 17 now. Are you still using the same hair system with good results? My daughter has had minor episodes of Alopecia since she was 10, but two weeks ago started losing her hair very quickly. She has now lost about 75% of her hair. We started topical treatment immediately, and she had a steroid shot last week, nothing has slowed it down. We have a consultation with an Apollo dealer next week. Does anyone have experience with Apollo? This discussion seems to make me think are heading in the right direction. Thank you!
