Learning my way around here so I decided to make this a separate discussion thread.
I did the Magic Shave with the card last night--still didn't get it all. The directions said to not use again within 24 hours. Angela I'm wondering have you had to do more than one round to get it ALL???

Also, I'm noticing in the areas where my scalp IS smooth, there are little dark spots which I THOUGHT were hairs, but I guess not. My question is does anyone else have these? and do they disappear as the scalp darkens?

Also, has anyone used an electric shaver???

Ms. E, I have do another shave the next day to get it all. Yes, I also have seen the spots, but they go away the next day for me. I only noticed them when I started using the Magic Shave, go figure. When I used the razor, I did not notice them.

Hi Ladies, I once used the Magic shave cream and was not pleased because the cream did not clean it all. I usually shave while in the shower, then rub alcohol on it along with a moisturizer cream. I have not experience any dark spots. I use a triple 3 razor. My alopecia is right in the center of my head, so when the litle hairs around begin to appear I just shave it because it looks better when the whole head is bald. I am loving my head and so does others.

That's where my alopecia is too and I agree.
I'd always been concerned that if I shaved, that part would stand out.

How long have you been wearing your shave?

August makes one year of not wearing any hair and I love it....

Now I would ASSUME that if they disappear when you use the razor, they might just be hair follicles of the stubbles left by the Magic Shave.

Let's see what happens when we get some sun. :D

So... today marks two whole weeks since I've been liberated! *o*
Well, partially anyway--I've still not walked outside bare-headed yet. *,*
I've sent e-mails and posted photos on facebook, but I haven't posted my bald photo as my profile picture yet (I think I'll do that now) nor has anyone yet seen me in person.

Beyond getting use to the look, having had issues with both the stubble and the spots on my scalp, today, I think I've come closer to the solution.

After the second round of Magic Shave without satisfactory results, yesterday I purchased an electric shaver. I used it last night (and this morning) and got a much more closer and satisfactory shave--without the stubble. Then when I put on my make-up I just put it on my head too! It does make a difference, so I've decided I just need to go and purchase another shade of make-up and I should be good! (Besides our high today is only 65 degrees and the sun didn't even come out until after 1PM and I've got to keep this journey moving forward :)

There's an oudoor jazz festival this weekend which I think I'll "unveil" for.
Of course being sure to not over-expose my scalp.

I am sooooooo grateful to have found this site--you just don't KNOW! :D

Hey Ms. E, when I came out on facebook, I posted my new picture and just explained to everyone what I had and was now embracing my new look. I am very proud of you for getting to this point in your journey.

I will now purchase me an electric shaver, which one did you buy?

Thanks Angela (:
I bought the Wahl 5-Star Shaver (Model 8061)

Thanks Ms. E, I will go out tomorrow to purchase me one.

Can't wait to hear how you like it.
Reading reviews and the instructions it's best to be sure to use light pressure initially until your scalp gets use to it.
I think I could actually hear the the little hairs going into the foil. :D
