I need help! My 14 yr old son has alopecia and is not dealing with it. He has decided that his hat is no longer working for him and has refused to leave the house, go to school. The only emotion he's showing is anger. Even when I say alopecia he gets very upset and does not want to talk. Other than getting therapy on board I have no idea how to help him get through this. Nothing I say matters to him. He started high school last week and only went 3 days. He's worried about what people think and worried his hat might come off. Could any teens offer some advice please.

Once people get used to it, it doesnt become such a big deal. Obviously all teens are different, but never let anyrhing stop your son doing what he likes. If he has a hobby or sport he loves then maybe let him focus on that to relieve some stress!
