When will there be any meetings? I'm in the Houston area and I'm willing to travel if I have to.

Hi Elizabeth,

At the moment, I do not have any dates for upcoming meetings in TX. But each group tends to meet once a quarter. I would suggest you contact the following folks so they may include you in their email database to receive timely information regarding their next meetings.

There is a Dallas support group, a San Antonio/Central Texas group, and a brand new Houston support group. Here is the contact information.

Thank you so much!! I'm wanting to help my nephew as much as I can.. He told my that he is heart broken because at the Valentine's day dance a group of girl's told him that they wouldn't dance with him because he doesn't have hair..

Oh my gosh, I'm sure that was quite devastating for him. The Dallas support group has a few younger boys - so does the SA group - and both would be very helpful to become involved with. I would also suggest checking out the NAAF conference as well (you may have already done so). It is a wonderful opportunity to meet many families with young children with Alopecia. It will be held in July in Washington DC this year. I attended the first year I was diagnosed (at 9) and many years after, and it was life changing. It was so helpful to know that I wasn't alone and I met so many amazing people. My very best to you and your family. ~Kim
