Ok, guys I will be doing a project on this group to see how long my shampoo and blow-out last on my fw. The two pics of me below was taken today 6/4 right after work, after I took my hair down from being up in a bun. I have a hair appt this afternoon for a shampoo and bow-out and will post what my hair will look like after. ~Holly

Thanks for posting...this is a great experiment that we can all learn from. Great idea! I'm curious to see the results.

I'm back and here is the result of my shampoo and blow-out (or some hairstylist would call it a shampoo and style, depending on where you live). I love this! It takes the hassle off of me of shampooing and drying my hair and I feel so wonderful afterwards. This is definitely something I will look fwd to doing every 4-6 weeks. Ly did a great job and it was in expensive. $25 and I gave her $5 as a tip. I see it like getting my nails done once a month. Lets see how long my shampoo and blow-out will last! I hope 4 weeks max! ~Holly

Hey do you guys get your hair shampooed while you're wearing it? I tried this a few months back and it was terrible - I felt like the wig would come off and I was really self conscious. By the time I came out (I had a bit of colour and a cut too) I felt really awful. Very stressful.

I really need to get some colour and a bit of a cut again but I'm too scared now to book in again.

Yes Jan, I do wear my fw on my head when getting a shampoo with the hairstylist and in my shower. My fw did come off when my hairstylist was rinsing my hair. 14' of hair, with my head back in the shampoo bowl, and with the amount of hair being saturated with water your fw will get heavy and lose suction from your scalp. I have no problems when with this. At first I was self conscious but, I've been wearing these vacuum wigs since 2002 and I'm use to/know the physics that the fw will lose suction while getting a shampoo in the shampoo bowl. I let my hairstylist (or the shampoo gal or guy) before the shampoo. I feel that if you are open and confident about wearing your fw when being shampoo, styled, cut, or etc. your stylist and especialy you will enjoy the salon experience much more. You deserve to treat yourself with a new hair style with these fw just as you should and would with your own natural hair. I say go for it Jan! Treat yourself to highlights, a new color, or cut! You deserve it! You own and deserve this hair and you should enjoy it! ~Holly
It looks really good! I agree...that price is small compared to the time we spend trying to do it ourselves and the outcome never seems as good as when the stylist does it. I will be doing this next week as well so we will see how mine turns out too! =)

6/5 - I just got home from work. I had my hair up in a ponytail and took it down for today's pic. The blowout is still nice and smooth!

6/6. Sorry, one of the pics is slightly blurry. But my hair from the blowout is still nice and smooth.

6/7. Got home from work and I was too lazy to take down my ponytail. My is hair is still smooth and very manageable!

6/8. No pic today but, if anything changes I'll make sure to to take pics and post. So far, still great results from the blowout. Will post and with pics on Friday. Then that will be a week. ~Holly
6/11. So today is officially a week since my shampoo and blowout. The hair around my hairline where the hair parts and my side swept bangs are slightly oily. That is most likely due to my oily skin on my t-zone areas. Other than that the overall hair from the blowout is still nice a smooth and very manageble.
6/16. Ok, I say my blowout will last about a good two weeks. The hair around my face is now noticeably looking oily and the hair is slightly dull. Don't get me wrong its still very manageable and I pretty sure I can pull it off another week but, this past Sunday I was out on a hike with Skyline and it was dusty! The hair didn't have the nice freshly shampoo aroma like it did. So, after work today I went ahead and schedule another shampoo & syle (or blowout) with my hair stylist. I'm looking fwd to the appt this Friday. This time I have a social gathering I can attend to with my freshly shampooed and styled hair!
